America’s small businesses may stand to benefit more from inexpensive drone technology than the big corporations such as Amazon and Facebook. Panelists supporting small businesses argued for clear and uncomplicated rules on the commercial use of drones at a House hearing Wednesday.
Mike Gilkey, chief executive of 3D Aerial Solutions, a Dayton, Ohio-based company that provides drone technology for commercial use says “Small business people like me are slugging their way through the obstacles and bureaucracy to fulfill our dreams of creating this new industry.”
Lobbying strongly in favor of speeding up regulations, the National Association of Realtors, issued a letter stating “Commercial use of [drones] has the potential to boost the U.S. economy, bringing research and manufacturing jobs to our country along with a new crop of small businesses specializing in their uses.”
